We recently sat down with multi-GRAMMY® winning mix engineer and plug-in designer Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer, Aretha Franklin, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan) and Fernando Reyes, engineer and mix assistant for Michael Brauer since 2016, to talk about their work, demonstrate the ways they repair vocal and instrument recordings with RX, and answer questions from Music Production Suite Pro members in a Q&A session.

In the clip below, hear how Michael and Fernando use RX’s Guitar De-noise module to tame slides and finger noises in an acoustic guitar recording, but without losing the organic individuality that these “errors” can bring to a performance.

As Michael and Fernando mention, Guitar De-noise is a great tool for taking the bite out of these sounds, which might distract the listener, but can do so subtly enough to leave a natural amount of noise in the recording.
