iZotope Inc., Cambridge, MA (12 February 2018) – iZotope, Inc., Emmy Award-winning experts in intelligent audio technology, was awarded for Outstanding Technical Achievement for its multitrack recording app, Spire, at the 33rd Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. Announced on Saturday, January 27 during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, the awards recognize the most outstanding individuals, companies, and technical innovations in the world of music-making, live performance, television, film, video games, and multimedia.

Winner of the Audio Apps & Hardware/Peripherals for Smartphones & Tablets category, iZotope’s Spire is free music app that enables you to record your music in seconds. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro musician, you can use simple, intuitive gestures to record, edit, and mix songs, then share them with the world. Spire app isn’t just an incredibly powerful multitrack recorder, it’s also the software engine of Spire Studio, the mobile recording studio. The product was designed to reinvent recording into something much more fun, simple, and unencumbered – while still ensuring the best quality sound. Using Spire Studio, musicians of all recording experience levels can record studio-quality music with one touch from anywhere they are – creating projects, songs, and demos that can be instantly shared with collaborators or fans around the world.

This marks iZotope’s third consecutive year as a NAMM TEC winner for its innovative products. Since 2009, the company has earned 8 award wins and 16 total nominations. Also nominated this year were iZotope’s RX 6 for audio repair and editing, and Neutron 2 for mixing and analysis.

“As iZotope reimagines the way musicians create, record, and collaborate on their music, we're proud of these three nominations – they recognize our innovation efforts using modern machine learning and mobile technologies," says Mark Ethier, iZotope CEO and co-founder. "Our goal with Spire is to transform the creative experience into something more spontaneous and magical, and we thank the voting community for giving Spire the win!"
