iZotope Announces iDrum Rock Edition For iPhone

iZotope brings rock riffs and acoustic drums to its popular iDrum family of apps.

NAMM, Anaheim, CA (January 15, 2009) – iZotope, Inc., a leading developer of tools for musicians and audio professionals, today announced that iDrum Rock Edition for Apple iPhone and iPod touch will be available on the Apple App Store at the end of January, 2009.

While previous editions of iDrum focused on hip hop and club beats, Rock Edition brings life-like acoustic drum sounds and fun rock-themed samples to iZotope’s critically acclaimed iDrum family of apps. Rock Edition sounds cover a broad range of rock and related genres such as punk, alt-rock, funk, metal, fusion, rhythm & blues, reggae, latin rock, nu-country and more. Users can mix and match sounds from different kits to create their own beats that include samples like guitar riffs, bass, keys and special effects. The app is designed to be fun for everyone, even users with no musical experience.

iDrum Rock Edition’s high quality acoustic drum samples also make this application a great drum machine for guitarists, bassists and other musicians that want to use their iPhone/iPod touch for practice or performance.

The iDrum family of apps allows users to combine professional sound content and patterns to create their own music. The iDrum applications take advantage of unique features of the iPhone platform—users can tap virtual pads to create rhythms, shake the handset to clear patterns, and use slide and flick gestures to navigate the application’s interface. Immersive, colorful visuals show the relationship between different sounds in the beat, allowing users to create new rhythms by creating visual patterns.  Using a special companion application, beats can even be turned into ringtones for iPhone.

Availability

iDrum Rock Edition will be available beginning in late January from Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/. iZotope will launch the new app with introductory pricing of $0.99 for a limited time only. iDrum Hip-Hop Edition, iDrum Club Edition and iDrum: Ministry of Sound Anthems are also available for download now from the App Store.
