iZotope plug-ins used in classroom and offered to students at special price.
Cambridge, MA (October 4, 2006) – IZOTOPE, INC. is pleased to announce that in addition to using their plug-in products to enhance student curriculum, The New England Institute of Art is participating in its academic purchase program. This program offers students and faculty special pricing on iZotope's line of plug-in effects.
"iZotope was generous to offer NEIA students an Academic Purchase plan that makes powerful tools like Ozone more available for students to work on," said John Krivit, Associate Professor, Audio & Media Technology at The New England Institute of Art, who uses iZotope products in the classroom. "It's exciting to know that our students will be looking at meters and using signal processing that are among the best out there."
Located in Boston, The New England Institute of Art has over 500 students in Associates and Baccalaureate programs who are studying Audio Production. Part of the curriculum for each student is a Listening & Analysis course where issues of dynamic range and frequency response are addressed. "In the classroom, I can show students how a great plug in like Ozone is essential for mastering those domains and coming up with a mix that sounds like it's on the radio."
"I've been a user of Ozone for several years now and I find it to be a powerful tool not only for simple desktop mastering, but also for tweaking tracks to their full potential," adds Krivit.
Included in the academic purchase program are iZotope's plug-ins: Ozone 3, a 64-bit integrated mastering system; Trash, a complete distortion processor; Spectron, spectral domain effects processing; pHATmatik PRO, a loop manipulation instrument; Radius for Logic, time stretch and pitch shift control; and iDrum, the drum machine for OS X.
