The surround Limiter in RX Final Mix expands on the ultra-transparent limiting developed for iZotope’s Ozone mastering suite to provide True Peak compliance across all surround channels, so you can mix creatively and dynamically without worrying about distortion.
The controls are built to be simple and straightforward. The True Peak slider sets the ceiling for the Limiter, so no peaks will ever go above that level. The Lift slider sets the input gain ahead of the Limiter section, increasing the overall level of your mix before limiting is applied. The character control offers three distinct limiting types for transparent clarity; smooth, analog-style warmth; or thick, powerful impact.
While this limiting is applied across all your surround channels, you can click the LFE bypass button to ensure explosions and effects stay prominent and powerful. When the LFE button appears white, limiting is being applied. When it appears grey, the Limiter is bypassed for the LFE channel.
RX Final Mix operates as a AAX, RTAS, VST, and Audio Unit insert plug-in right inside of your digital audio workstation or video editor like Adobe’s Premiere Pro, Avid’s Media Composer, or Final Cut Pro X.
