iZotope CEO and co-founder, Mark Ethier, at the 32nd annual NAMM TEC Awards.
One highlight of this year’s NAMM show for all of us at iZotope was the 32nd annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards, where both Ozone 7 Advanced and Pro Audio Essentials were honored! This is the second year in a row that we’ve had the privilege of receiving two awards in one night, and it brings our total TEC Award tally to seven trophies since 2009.
Considered the “Oscars” of the pro audio and sound recording industry, TEC Awards honor excellence in sound technology and creativity. These prestigious awards, presented during the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA, recognize the most outstanding products in the world of music making, live performance, video games, television, and film.
Following a TEC Award win for Ozone 4 in 2009 and another nomination for Ozone 5 in 2012, our Ozone 7 Advanced essential mastering tools were recognized as tops in the “Signal Processing Software (Dynamics, EQ, Utilities)” category. The only downside? This win meant that RX 5, a fellow nominee in that category, lost. (How’s that for sibling rivalry?)
We were also excited to be the inaugural winner of a brand-new TEC Award category for 2017, “Audio Education Technology.” Taking highest honors was Pro Audio Essentials, our game-based educational tool that offers interactive audio training for music producers.
As always, we’re grateful for those who nominated us, those who voted for us, and everyone in our iZotope community—it’s all of you who inspire us to raise the bar higher with every product we release.
iZotope's RX 3 Audio Repair Suite has won the top award for Outstanding Technical Achievement in the category Signal Processing Software at the 30th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards.
