Learn how to dial in a dirty vocal sound with Vinyl.
In this example, Vinyl is adding grit and dirt to the lead vocal during the bridge of a song. The DUST, MECHANICAL NOISE, WEAR, and ELECTRICAL NOISE provide an organic, lo-fi edginess to the bridge which plays well off the dark piano sound. Simultaneously, the YEAR setting band-limits the sound, focusing the vocal in a smaller frequency range providing better separation from the piano, and providing a greater contrast between song sections, allowing the vocal to open up at the upcoming final chorus.
