At iZotope, we love audio in all its shapes and forms. "The New Audio Podcast" is a forum for iZotope to have candid, spirited, and informal conversations with audio engineers, producers, and musicians. We'll get to the bottom of the things, chat about industry trends, music, and even meet some of iZotope's talented core of audio professionals. If you like well-informed and wide-ranging discussions about the world of audio, this podcast is for you.
Vance Powell is a warm and welcoming presence on Nashville’s Berry Hill studio scene with his avuncular manner, huge beard, and particularly southern social graces. Over the last last few years Vance recorded a wide variety of artists, including Keb’ Mo’, Tom Jones, Insane Clown Posse, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Jeff The Brotherhood.
The three-time GRAMMY winner invited us to interview him in one of the live rooms at the studio he owns, Sputnik sound. Vance neglected to mention there would be a party going on, literally, while we talked. No matter; we got down to business just the same.
