Frequently Asked Questions
Check here for answers to common questions about iZotope's developer tools and SDKs.
Q: What platforms/devices are supported?
A: We support iPhone (3GS and higher) and iPad for all our audio tools.
Q: What iOS versions are supported?
A: We support iOS 4.0 and above.
Q: I'm developing for Android. Can iZotope help?
A: Though we do not yet have official Android support for all of our tools, we'd still like to hear about your project. Please feel free to contact us.
Q: I'm looking for a certain effect that I don't see listed. Can iZotope help?
A: We are always developing and porting new technologies, please contact us if don't see the technology you are interested in listed.
Q: What is included in iZotope's iOS SDK?
A: iZotope's iOS SDKs come with several components, including sample code, a Sample App, and a Demo App.
Q: What can I do with a "locked" SDK?
A: You can see example code within the Sample App, which will show you how to call the effects using our API. This will give you an idea of how the SDK can be implemented within your project. You can also hear the effects using the Demo App.
Q: What can I do with the Sample App?
A: The Sample App can be run within the iOS simulator or built to an iOS device, as can any integration of our SDK within your own project. However, the audio will not be processed with any of the effects until they are unlocked.
Q: What can I do with the Demo App?
A: By running the Demo App in your iOS simulator within Xcode, you will have a basic interface for hearing how the effects sound in use. We provide audio samples, but you can also load your own. Please note: the Demo App cannot be built to a device, it will only run in the simulator
Q: How do I hear my own audio samples in the Demo App?
A: To add custom audio files (must be 16-bit .wav or .aiff), go to the folder
Users/*username*/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/(version#)/Applications
and open the Demo App folder to which you want to add the audio file. Then simply copy the audio file(s) into the Documents folder within the app's folder and it will be added to the audio file list in the Demo App.
Q: How do I obtain an unlock code?
A: Once you've evaluated the SDK Sample and/or Demo app, please contact us and a representative from the iZotope Licensing division will get right back to you.
Q: How much does it cost to license iZotope's SDKs for use?
A: Please contact us so we can learn more about your project and the scope of your needs.
