Is PhotonTV available as a download or on CD?
PhotonTV is distributed on CD, to accomodate the large
number of menus and themes that are provided with the product.
What type of CDs can PhotonTV create?
Video CD (VCD2.0), Super Video CD (SVCD), and XSVCD.
What type of encoding is supported?
MPEG-1 and variable bit-rate MPEG-2 encoding using both high-resolution
still picture and motion (transition) video support.
What resolutions are supported?
for NTSC display:
VCD still images (still photos without transitions) up to 704x480
resolution
SVCD video (photos and transitions) up to 480x480
XSVCD video (photos and transitions) up to 704x480
for PAL display:
VCD still images (still photos without transitions) up to 704x576
resolution
SVCD video (photos and transitions) up to 480x576
XSVCD video (photos and transitions) up to 704x576
Is there an additional charge for distributing commercial
CDs I make with PhotonTV?
No, there isn't.
Can I play CDs that I make with PhotonTV on a PC?
If you have a DVD software player for your PC, you can
play PhotonTV disks with it.
Do I need a DVD burner to use PhotonTV?
No, just a CD burner.
Do I need Adobe Photoshop to create menus?
No. PhotonTV can read layered Photoshop files to allow
you create reusable customized menus, but you can also create custom
menus by selecting a generic menu layout and customizing the background
image, fonts, etc.
Is there any limit to the number of photos I can put on
a CD?
No, there is no limit other than the amount of space on the CD.
How is PhotonTV different than PhotonShow?
In terms of delivery format, PhotonShow creates lightweight
shows for the web, CD-ROM and PocketPC, while PhotonTV creates shows
for DVD players. In terms of creating shows, PhotonShow is based
on themes that have predetermined borders, transitions and timings.
PhotonTV allows you to independently specify transitions, timings,
captions, etc.
Can I have different timings and transitions for each photo
in a PhotonTV show?
Yes, you can.
Can I include copies of the original photos on the CD for
people to print or save to their PC?
Yes, you can.
