Sounds Like Drums listened to a lot of The Commodores, Sam and Dave and Wilson Pickett before developing what you hear in this kit. All the sounds from 'Brick House', 'Soul Man' and 'Mustang Sally' are truly here and ready to go.

The base samples were recorded in 615 sq. ft of space with a 42 sq. ft floating floor solely for drums. An extensive list of world-class equipment was utilized, including the Universal Audio 610 tube microphone preamp and Neumann TLM 103 condenser mic. All recordings were made in ProTools at 24bit/44.1 KHz.

The Kanjira is a southern Indian frame drum that is rooted in classical Indian music. It is a member of the tambourine family and produces a very musical tone. The Tabla, also an Indian instrument, is comprised of two hand drums that each produce an extensive variety of sound. The Shekere is an African percussion instrument. It is essentially a dried gourd surrounded by a net of beads. It's tone is distinct and can be heard extensively on Afro-beat recordings made by Fela Kuti. The Doumbek (also know as Goblet Drum) is an ancient arabic percussion instrument. It has a very responsive drum head and produces a crisp, warm sound.
